I've seen them a few times and always been pretty bored.

Casal is fine, but never lights me on fire. He's one of those players that people rave about, but to me always seem like they just know their scales really well and don't play with a ton of soul. Like he's memorized some neat-o patterns and just sticks with that. Boring and noodle-y. I'm sure people here could argue the opposite, but I felt that way about his playing with the Cardinals and have felt the same with CRB.

Sluppick was never the right drummer for the band, too funky. They needed a straight ahead Kreutzman type and he's not it. Don't know anything about the new guy.

The tunes are really meandering and devoid of strong parts.


: I haven't heard Chris solo in well over a decade when he had that boring New Earth Mud album. I caught him once in New York around then and it was boring. I also caught him with Phil Lesh and it was pretty good.

: Part of me is curious but part of me wouldn't cross the street to see them
