Fantastic show. The band sounds great. Lots of RR and MFF solos and back and forth. The Vulture featured a lot of MFF facemelt.

Sister Ray was probably the highlight of the entire show. Rich’s sons (who have grown up) came out and sang the vocals. It was astounding and quite unexpected. It was easily the most memorable song of the night and probably the best. Didn’t see that coming at all.

Rich and Marc alone in North Country was also pretty sweet.

Sister Moon, Can You See, and Josephine were major standouts. I never liked Josephine much with TBC but Rich on vocals worked much better than Chris. Go figure. It was less pretentious sounding.

Eight Miles High, Dreams, MMS and Under A Mountain were as great as you’d expect. MMS was a tad short though.

Not a bad song in the set. Some amazing covers. They played most of the new album and bits from Marc and Rich’s solo stuff. It’s a great lineup and a ton of material to pull from with all of the solo and TBC catalogue. Hogg was excellent.

Oh and they smiled a lot, apparently people think that matters.

Crowd was great. Venue was small. Probably 85- 95% sold out. Standard TBC 50 big dudes to every girl ratio. There were three big dudes (nearly as big as me) that kept talking the first half of the show. Then they left. Score! I was second row, Rich side. Very loud.

I totally recommend going to see them. I won’t miss another show that is local or reasonably close. I’d say it was the best TBC show I’ve been to since Norva in 2006.
