I think it's bizarre that if Page didn't sort of come in there and help them get back on the map after a really bad 1999 with BYS, awkwardness, etc, warts all over the stage) with the Page/Crowes thing, they don't get the deal with the English owned V2 label and the 5 million dollar deal. The fact this wasn't appreciated more in the position they were in for the band's future, is weird. Sure, any Page collaboration may have failed like Lions, but wow.

It would only make sense if RR was sitting on some dynamite riffs to make this incredible album.

That was what Branson was banking on and why Sony couldn't wait to drop them so fast, apparently.

The Robinsons don't seem to care how relationships are supposed to work. They're users, really. It's like Trump. "Meh, I don't want to pay, so I am going to leave everyone high and dry"...

And then when CR checks out of the deal to go solo, he doesn't quite understand he is contractually bound to V2 and the remaining 4 mil? Why not dig another hole, CR/RR?

I mean, again, they're just like little children. They're the Spaulding Smails of rock and roll.

I am not sure how any of this is defensible regardless how big of a fan you are. One short-sighted, childish decision leads to another, and the hole gets deeper.

The cherry on top is learning Rich honestly thought he had plenty of songs for Lions. It's one of the funniest things I've ever heard surrounding the Black Crowes at any time in their history. Talk about delusion. Isn't that it in a nutshell?

CR called Lions "dark and heavy like Amorica"..Remember? No, it's not anything like Amorica because it sucks.

It's their worst album, IMO, with the worst songs. BYS sucks, but at least there are some band songs on there and a few good rock songs, or songs for those who only want meat and potatoes rock and roll. Lions is just a forced mess.

The Robinsons are the types who have been so spoiled since birth, that when they get to make decisions as an adult, they don't care they can get what they want, they just want it done.

And, Angelus was the guy they had doing it for them, regardless of any pushback from him.

When CR said in BTM "if you don't get me any drugs, you're fired", it's sort of funny, but this apparently was something that was a constant thing across their entire business as TBC, Inc.

When the dust settles and your artistic control disappears, it's not really funny anymore, it's sort of pathetic.

Word is, this Shane Theriot character is the new lead player for this upcoming tour. I mean, the dude is an accomplished player and all of that, but after watching episodes of Live From Darryl's House and chuckling at his cheap guitars and crappy ear/tinny tone, it's another bad mistake.

This Shapiro guy as a Barnum and Bailey descendant is going to make Angelus look like the kid who sold lemonade on the corner in the neighborhood.

$75 a ticket for Live Nation for greatest hits and CR straining over Rich on 12? No thanks. I don't want to spend $100 in a night and be depressed about how on earth the Robinsons could be this pathetic.
